This practical, information-packed and skill-oriented full-day workshop is designed for aquatic facility practitioners and managers who aspire to stay on top of the aquatic trends and industry standards. Join pool operators, life guards and instructors, pool maintenance staff, aquatic and recreation facility managers and supervisors, safety instructors, and advanced aquatic instructors for a full day of learning with local and international peers and experts!

For this year only, Ripple Effects will be a one day event to coincide with, and enable attendance to, the World Conference on Drowning Prevention (October 17 - 19). This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for BC professionals to attend this prestigious international event. Delegates who register for both events will be eligible for a $60 discount.

Join us for a full day of education and networking with local and international speakers and peers, in the heart of downtown Vancouver.

Ripple Effects 2017 features:
  • 2 International Keynote Presenters; both world recognized experts in drowning prevention,
  • 3 new session streams focusing on: Leadership; Innovations & Innovative Solutions; and Maintenance,
  • 4 education session blocks, each offering 3 concurrent sessions to choose from, and
  • 3 pre-conference sessions to round out your learning experience.
Keynotes:
  • Dr. Francesco Pia, inventor of the Pia Carry starts the day off with strategies to train lifeguards to detect drowning people's struggles, and to avoid inattentional blindness.
  • Dr. Robert Keig Stallman will explore the aquatics profession as key community leaders in developing a culture of safety.
