Hi all, I'm not sure how many of you require your instructors to have NCCP certification, but if any of your staff are looking for opportunities to get professional development credits, I thought I'd let you know about the BC Sport Conference that we are hosting on January 10, 2015 at the Michael J. Fox Theatre in Burnaby, BC.

The BC Sport Conference is a one-day conference for coaches of all sports, and they will receive 3 NCCP professional development credits for attending this event. Each sport has different guidelines for how many credits are needed every 5 years to maintain coaching certification.

Visit for more information and to register. The conference is an initiative of Volleyball BC (, and is sponsored by Tourism Burnaby ( The BC Sport Conference features:
• Rick Hansen, "Man in Motion" as the keynote speaker
• Anson Dorrance, head coach UNC Women's Soccer program
• David Cox, sport psychologist for Canadian National teams and professional athletes
• Allison McNeill, former head coach Canadian National Women's Basketball team
• Doug Reimer, head coach UBC Women's Volleyball program
• Athlete panel with Darcy Marquardt, silver medalist in rowing, and BC snowboard cross Olympian, Rob Fagan (sponsored by ViaSport)

Also, if you've got a sport council in your community, feel free to pass this information along to them too!
